چکیده
Recently, a great interest in search of alternate means power for the traditional fuel aircraft propulsion is raised so as to decrease gas emissions and reduce operating costs. For small micro unmanned aerial vehicles or transportation aircraft, there are many challenges direction constructing an electric solar powered airplane whose wings may possibly be sheltered with photo voltaic PV panels harvest sun’s energy propulsion. Greatest remarkably success has attracted attention researchers other than UAV supporters. Although panel thin, its thickness considerable compared airfoil thickness. This paper aims evaluate impact adding over low camber suitable low-Reynolds number flights, mini UAVs. Three installation configurations examined stand on most configuration, terms aerodynamic efficiency. The analysis based characteristics (lift, drag, moment) pressure distribution surface. A parametric study conducted effect size, thickness, position performance.

Aerodynamic Hysteresis of a Low- Reynolds-Number Airfoil
L OW-REYNOLDS-NUMBER airfoil aerodynamics is important for bothmilitary and civilian applications. The applications include propellers, sailplanes, ultralight man-carrying/man-powered aircraft, high-altitude vehicles, wind turbines, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and micro air vehicles (MAVs). For the applications just listed, the combination of small length scale and low flight velocities re...

This paper deals with the numerical simulation of the twodimensional, incompressible, steady air flow past an airfoil for a solar powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with internal propulsion system. This airfoil results from a NACA 2415 four digits family base airfoil modification [7] and has a propulsive outlet with the shape of a step on the suction surface. The analysis involved the airfoi...
متن کاملAerodynamic Performance Enhancement of a NACA 66-206 Airfoil Using Supersonic Channel Airfoil Design
Supersonic channel airfoil design techniques have been shown to significantly reduce drag in high-speed flows over diamond shaped airfoils by Ruffin and colleagues. The effect of applying these techniques to a NACA 66-206 airfoil is presented. The design domain entails channel heights of 8-16.6% thickness-to-chord and speeds from Mach 1.5-3.0. Numerical simulations show an increase in the lift-...
متن کاملAn Experimental Investigation on Aerodynamic Hysteresis of a Low-Reynolds Number Airfoil
An experimental study was conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of a NASA low speed GA(W)-1 airfoil at the chord Reynolds number of ReC=160,000. Aerodynamic hysteresis was observed for the angles of attack close to the static stall angle of the airfoil. In addition to mapping surface pressure distribution around the airfoil, a high-resolution PIV system was used to make detai...
متن کاملVerification of a CFD solver in near ground effect for aerodynamic behavior of airfoil NACA 0015
Numerical investigation was performed on NACA 0015 which is a symmetric airfoil. Pressure distribution and then lift and drag forces are verified. Changing of ground clearance was a considerable point. Also the angle of attack was changed from 0° to 10°. Pressure coefficient reaches its higher amounts on the wing lower surface when the ground clearance diminishes. Increment of the angle of atta...
